We have thrilling news! After numerous performances with Andy handling the soundboard, we've realized just how invaluable his help has been. Not only do we sound better, but we also play better and have an extra hand for all the miscellaneous tasks we need to tackle. During our rehearsal session last week, the three of us came to the conclusion that we need to officially acknowledge Andy as the fourth member of our band by offering him the role of The Sound Man. In truth, he is genuinely "The Man." He consistently goes above and beyond, assisting in numerous ways. From setting up the mixer board, microphones, and speakers, to rescuing us when things go wrong on stage during a performance. He's a true lifesaver..

We believe you'll find this brief interview with Andy rather cool. If you spot him in the audience, don't hesitate to approach him and express your gratitude for enhancing the band's sound.
Jaime: Hi Andy. Firstly, welcome to the band! On behalf of the Red11s, congratulations on becoming the newest member as The Sound Man. It's always a pleasure to have you on stage managing the sound levels, not to mention your help with loading and unloading heavy equipment. We sound significantly better when you are around, and our overall stress level decreases drastically. So on that note, I'd like to ask you a few questions. First of all, do you accept this position of The Sound Man for the Red11s? And may I post this interview on our blog?
Andy: Dude, I don't even know what to say! I'm blown away. It is my pleasure to help you guys out. Yeah! Ask me whatever questions you want. I would be honored to be in your blog as I am honored to run the sound for you guys!
Dude! I'm just blown away! You guys fuggin ROCK!
Jaime: Fantastic! How many years have you been in the music business?
Andy: Well I worked at a Cable TV studio for a while and we would have live bands come on the shows a lot, so I sort of learned how a mixing board worked. It wasn't until I met the Red11s that I started dabbling in a live mix with a remote mixer. It's fun!
Jaime: When was your first gig as a roadie or sound-man?
Andy: Around 1985-86 or so. I was 18, and hanging around Johnny Thompson's Music so much that Eric offered me a job there. Turned out he was in a top 40 band and I would tag along to the gigs with him. I would hang out and help set up his drums, then I started helping the rest of the band, then I started doing that for every gig.
Jaime: If I do my math right, that's almost 40 years. Wow! What is the most memorable disaster you helped avert on stage?
Andy: I was helping the Top 40 band set up. The keyboardist had a giant thousand pound, 70's era, 4-stack keyboard rig. I happened to be behind it and noticed the top keyboard was leaning way too far and that giant keyboard starting to slide off its rack. I managed to sprint over to it just as it toppled backwards and caught it before it hit the stage. Scared the hell out of me!
Jaime: What an incredible save! The keyboard player was fortunate to have you there. I know I can confidently entrust all my guitars to you. How do you feel about joining the Red11s as the newest member?
Andy: It is so cool to be a part of this band! You guys are so good, and talented and have so much fun playing, it's a pleasure to be there.
Jaime: Thanks, Andy. One more thing: I don't have a picture of you, so I extracted this image from a video my neighbor had and applied a photo blur effect. Let me know if this is suitable for posting on the blog.
Andy: Yeah that's fine.... but you forgot to add the blur to the face ! Ha ha ha
Jaime: Ha ha, I might actually do that. :)
